The Story

One ride. One cause. Every year.

The Lowballz Ride started in 2011 as a small group of local riders out of the Black Hills who wanted to do something real for their community. Fifteen years later, the formula hasn't changed: pick a cause, pick a route, fill the parking lot at Central High, and ride.

Every year a different group benefits — kids in foster care, a memorial scholarship, a family in a tight spot. The ride is open to everyone. Cars, trucks, side-by-sides — if it rolls, it's welcome. Show up, throw a few bucks in the bucket, and ride the southern Black Hills with a few hundred of your neighbors.

"We put this ride together every year to try and help people in our community." — Michael Broesder, Founder

Hosted by Michael Broesder & Amy Wiedner Broesder with the Lowballz Ride crew.

The Ride

How it goes down

Roll In

10:00 AM — Central High School parking lot, 433 Mount Rushmore Rd, Rapid City. Coffee, donations, raffle tickets, and a pile of bikes.

Kickstands Up

We roll out together and head into the heart of the Black Hills — small towns, twisty backroads, and one very good lunch stop. Group ride, but ride your own pace.

After-Party

Back to Kickstands Campground and Venue for BBQ, live music, and the raffle. Stick around — the raffle is where we hit the goal.

2026 — The Rochford Run

Rapid City → I-79 south → Keystone exit → Keystone → Old Hill City Rd → Hill City → Deerfield Rd → Rochford → Lead → Deadwood → through Sturgis → freeway back to Kickstands Campground for the after-party.

~150 miles of the best riding in the Black Hills. Group ride, but ride your own pace — we regroup at the after-party.

This Year's Cause

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Black Hills

Every dollar from the 2026 Rochford Run goes to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Black Hills — the local chapter that pairs kids with mentors who actually show up. One-to-one, week after week, year after year. The kind of relationship that changes a kid's whole trajectory.

That's the whole point of this ride. Every bike in the parking lot, every raffle ticket — it lands right back in our community.

Want to give before the ride? Bring it Sunday. Want to ride and give? Even better.
